I wanted to talk more about my goals that I mentioned in my previous post, that you can read here, about the book, Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion.
I have most definitely seen a boost in my energy levels. I don't find myself feeling as worn out as easily throughout the day. I haven't shed too many pounds according to my scale, BUT I have noticed that most of my clothes fit me looser than before! No joke. I do work out and have noticed a bit more muscle definition. (Always, always a plus.) I also have had a few nights where I have slept better than before, which is a start, and hopefully as I continue, the amount of sleep I get will increase significantly.
I also have found that I don't feel the need to eat as much as I used to. I don't feel as though I'm ever super deprived, which made me sometimes binge eat in the past.
I hadn't really thought about this being a result from what I'm doing, but I have also found that my skin on my face looks slightly clearer and bright. Interesting...
I am very pleased with the results that I'm seeing and feeling so far.
Some things that I love about the book besides my results are how easy the meal plans are to follow. You are told how to balance your own meals to make sure you're getting an adequate amount of certain things, such as protein, carbs, and so on. I like all of the things he says about how you should eat. Most diets I've read about and tried in the past made it seem like carbs were the enemy.
This is what I read in Always Eat After 7 PM- “Fact is, most diets are extremely narrow with regard to food choices and variety, and many even limit entire macronutrients altogether over the course of the entire program (think low-carb and low-fat diets). Three months with no carbs? No thanks. Such practices not only are entirely unnecessary, but make for a miserable, unsustainable experience.”
Haha! No thanks is right! I need my carbs. We’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. But the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal
There are also a few recipes included in the book. I have never been much for sweets, unless they are healthy, and so my favorite from his book is this homemade Cherry Garcia Ice Cream. It's healthy and simple to recreate. It's not traditional ice cream like you expect it to be. I LOVE it.
Check out how amazing it looks.
