Where I'm from, it gets really hot for several months at a time. Texas heat is no joke, especially around the summer and early fall. Not only is it a good idea to have a really good air conditioning unit of some sort in your house that you can keep on all the time. However, although, this may keep you cool here, your electricity bill isn't cool. What I've found always helps is to keep a few good fans on in the rooms that you spend the most time in. This helps to keep the temperature cooler as it circulates the air around the room. In return, the ac doesn't have to work so hard and keep turning on(when on auto) to try and keep the house cool...
