I know what you're thinking- what exactly is the Hive?

It is a number of smart devices for your home that can be controlled via a free app. You can download that app onto your phone, computer, or tablet.

It all sounds like something I could benefit from in my house.

The products that I received are:

-Hive Active Thermostat- You can control the heating and cooling system in your home. You can set up to 6 schedules. This is great if you are away from home and want to come home to a warmer or cooler house. You can also control it from another room if you don't feel like getting out of bed to change the temp. This thermostat is so nice looking and modern. It comes with a plain decorative face plate, which is optional to install.

-2 Hive Active Lights- Turn these lights off and on, dim them, or tune them from white to warm lighting. They fit any lamp in which a standard bulb fits. With the help of the window/door sensors (more info below), you can set a light to turn on when a door or window opens or shuts. You can set a schedule so that the light turns on and off at a certain time each day.

-2 Hive Window or Door Sensors- These come with adhesive to adhere to your door or window, and already have a battery in each. You can set the app to notify you each time a door or window is opened or shut. These can work with some of the other smart devices as mentioned above. These are great to add some extra security to your home. I think they are also wonderful if you have children, younger or older, and you want to know if and when they are opening doors and windows. Know what time your teen gets home without having to wait by the door. Ha.

-Hive Active Plug- Turn your electronic device of choice, i.e a curling iron, crockpot, iron, t.v. etc. off and on through the app. This is perfect for busy people like myself. I hate leaving the house, wondering Did I turn the iron off? Just open up the app and push the button to turn it off.

I also like that you can plug a stereo into it and then have it turn on when you walk into the house! Make a television turn off or on when you leave a room. You can also This is possible because the door/window sensor will communicate with the plug. Yes, you an set an actual schedule as well.

-Hive Hub- You plug this into your router with a LAN cord. It's not very big, so I like that it doesn't take up much space. It is the device that you connect all of the products to. It helps them communicate with one another.

Another really awesome thing besides the fact that you can control all of these things from the app is that you can also connect it to Alexa, if you have the Alexa app.

Then she will communicate with your smart devices as well. You can say something like, "Alexa, turn light on in kid's room", "Alexa, turn off plug in kitchen", or whatever you have it labeled as...

I will be taking photos once everything is installed and working in my house. Again, I'm beyond excited.
