I remember years ago when I was a little girl. I used to have so much fun playing with this little record player that my mom had bought me. It was a set that came with a ton of kid's vinyl records. I'd listen to them over and over.
Then, one day I came across a box of my mom's old records, and she actually let me listen to those too, as long as I promised to be careful with them. I was. I danced around and sang my little heart out for hours.
I became a big fan of Michael Jackson and Madonna and Prince at that time, thanks to her. She had a ton of other great ones.
I've heard people say that nothing can truly compare to the sweet, warm sound that a record player can deliver. I agree that CDs are more convenient and so are MP3s and MP4s, but the sound quality is definitely not the same.
My old record player went missing years ago, but my mom still has a big stack of vinyl records stored away, covered in dust...
I have always wanted to get my mom a record player but they were always so big and their price tag, even bigger. I've finally come across one that is affordable and works beautifully.
It comes in what looks like a briefcase, making it portable. It's not very heavy either. I like how light it is and how it doesn't take up much room if you want to have it sitting on a dresser or shelf.
The color of the case is a shiny leather black, which can go well with any decor. There are two other colors available.
This is the side of the case. There is an on/off/volume button, headphone jack, DC adapter jack, red and white audio jacks, and a line in jack.
Not only does this baby play records, but you can also connect your phone, tablet, MP3/MP4 player, and other audio devices and listen to them through the internal speakers.
Nice little addition there, if I do say so myself.
I grabbed one of my mom's old records to try it out before giving it to her. It was simple to use and it sounded great. It brought back a ton of memories from my childhood.
I had no issues with playback and the volume coming from the small internal speakers can actually get pretty loud.
The sound, however, doesn't sound as loud when I connect it to an external audio device. This can be easily remedied when using external speakers. Then I can play the music as loud as I choose to.
There is an auto stop switch, a speed switch and a tiny plastic piece that can cover and protect the needle when it is not being used. I like that.
This is going to be one of the best gifts that I've ever given to my mom. I can hardly wait to see her face!
