WOW. 7 months have already gone by since my tiny baby girl was born. When people say that times flies, they mean it.
I feel like just yesterday I was laying on bed rest, feeling her strong little feet kicking inside my tummy. Oh my gosh, do I ever remember the way that felt. Even now I see the strength in those little baby legs.
She started sitting without support at around 5 months and one day closer to 6 months, I caught her pulling herself up to stand in her bassinet! Oh, scary day. I was sitting next to her, luckily...
Now whenever she is on the floor, she will try and pull herself up on anything that she can. She is growing up way too fast for me. However, she is still a tiny thing. She now weighs a little over 14 pounds and around 25 inches. She may not be very big, but remember, she was born 6 weeks early, so, yeah...
She can army crawl and today she started crawling a little more regularly on all fours. Got tired of that quickly and wanted to try and cruise along the furniture.
I will be getting a baby gate ASAP. Yes, I know, I should have gotten one already. Funds are tight, but I know I need one like, yesterday.
My oldest, who is 7 years old, adores her and she adores him. The giggling fits these two get into on a daily basis melt my heart. I'm so glad he is not like some kids, and feeling jealous. He loves her so much. He's always wanted a younger sibling though.
As for my husband, well, he simply loves both children very much. He is a really hard worker and has been coming home so exhausted these days. He is short on help at work and it's been rough on him. I feel bad when he comes home and we're both so exhausted- me from being with the kids all day and doing schooling and housework, him from remodeling houses. We haven't had much time to ourselves, let alone a romantic meal together in months.
It's all worth it though.
I'm proud of myself. I'm still exclusively nursing on demand with my daughter. She is also eating solids- and I honestly haven't found one that she doesn't like. She loves every veggie and fruit that I give her, especially broccoli, sweet potatoes, pears, bananas, and apples.
She's tried others, but really loves those that I've listed. We started with the Baby Led Weaning as soon as she was six months, and she does well with self feeding softened foods. However, occasionally, I do make things like applesauce (I just grate an apple in a bowl)...She likes it all.
She lets me know when she wants more and when she's done, so it's really not an issue for me.
How fun it is when she's done self feeding. Ha. Food all over her face and sometimes a little in her hair. Or when she decides to toss stuff off of her highchair tray.
Oh, I could go on and on...
I just love these nights when I can just ramble on my computer. It's a nice way to unwind and vent.
Meanwhile, the baby is asleep, husband is asleep, and my son is lying in my bed watching How The Grinch Stole Christmas, while I blog away.
I'll end this post with a picture of my three loves. More rambling to come soon.
