This is a decent sized lantern that definitely provides a ton of light for emergencies and whatnot. It's easy to use, can be held when walking around and not too heavy. I've owned heavier lanterns that were the same size...


I love that you can flip it over, remove the clear plastic and then you can hang it from the small but tough hook and use as an overhead lamp. It can be hung in a room, closet, tent, and so on.

 
Now, as for what I don't like---the fact that it uses such big bulky batteries. It would be great if it used smaller, more commonly used batteries that I normally have around the house.Not only that, once you remove the battery compartment cover, you HAVE to make sure to align it just right, or it can be a bit difficult to screw back on. Also, what might be nice would be if it were a rechargeable lantern with a removable charger cord. 
It's still a very nice product.
