In my house, there are quite a few tuna lovers. My son asked to make tuna sandwiches in the shape of little fish constantly. I don't mind making them for him since I know tuna is good for him, but I absolutely hate getting tuna water on my hands and with my clumsiness, sometimes on my clothes. Ew.
I had never seen or heard of anything like the Tuna Squish until a few weeks ago. Here it is. Let me tell you what my experience was like with this nifty little device.
Cute little fish, isn't it?
Company's Product Description
- Let's you open a can of tuna without actually touching it
- Drains the liquid, removes and ejects the lid from canned tuna
- Has a magnet in upper handle that removes lid
Basically, you get your can of tuna and slip it between the two handles.
Then, you can turn it sideways and squish the can together, releasing all of the water or oil in the can.
The top handle actually has a magnet inside of it, making it easy to lift the lid off, without physically touching it with your own hands.
Then you can simply lift the top handle, remove the now drained can, and dispose of the lid.
Now, from my own experience, I've found that the Tuna Squish actually works better on bigger cans of tuna than the smaller ones. This is simply because with the smaller cans tend to bend a bit for me and make it a little harder to remove the lids without touching them.
I do like this product because it seriously does drain the cans incredibly well. I don't think that I've ever drained them as well by hand.
This product is really easy to hand wash or it can be popped into the dishwasher as well for an even more thorough clean.
Nice gift for anyone who spends time in the kitchen and loves tuna!
