I homeschool my six year old son. He is extremely bright, well beyond his age group. He loves to learn and continues to thrive in our homeschool program. I love to try out new activities and educational tools with him so that it never gets boring.
The latest thing that I have added is a set of Parenting Cards from We Choose Virtues.
Company's Product Description
- Parenting Cards are a simple and effective tool for creating a culture of character in your home. These full color, delightfully illustrated cards are loaded with helpful tips on introducing and demonstrating 12 Virtues...and kids love them
- Set is available in either Spanish or English, New International Verse, or King James Verse
This is what the front of the cards look like. Each one has a different virtue and an example of what each virtue means. Also included is a different bible memory verse on each.
The cards include a total of twelve different virtues for you and your child to go over. These include obedient, gentle, helpful, self-controlled, content, patient, attentive, forgiving, honest, patient, perseverant, and diligent.
The cards are very nicely illustrated in bright colors that will definitely keep kids interested. There are adorable characters on the front of each card and a story about them on the back.
This is an example of what the back of each card looks like.
There are Teachable Moments which give different scenarios in which you can teach your child about the virtue mentioned on the front of the card.
There is a challenge on each card that the whole family can participate in, relating to the virtue.
There is also an example of what can be said when apologizing.
Basically, everything on the back relates to the virtue printed on the front, in some way.
My husband and I think that these cards are excellent. Our son loves going over them with us. He really is learning and has learned a lot about every virtue mentioned. He brings them up constantly, which is nice. He even has memorized several of the verses stated on the front. I'm happy that he finds these fun and can learn something from them. Highly recommended both for homeschooling families and non-homeschooling.
