My Thoughts
I've always heard that seaweed wraps can detox and beautify the skin and I've tried a few different pre-made masks with seaweed in them. This is the first time that I tried the actual powder and was able to make not only my own facial masks but also my own body scrubs.
I love natural scrubs and masks. And yes, the smell may not be pleasant for all people, but it doesn't bother me one bit. (Probably because I think it smells an awful lot like Spirulina, which I was taking regularly before getting pregnant.) If someone really has a problem with the scent, then there is always the option of adding in a natural essential oil of choice.
I mixed this powder with a little bit of honey and water, until it came out like a paste. Then, I scrubbed it onto my face and let it sit there for about fifteen minutes. It didn't irritate my face. I rinsed it off with a warm, wet cloth, and my skin felt very soft, tighter, and exfoliated. It also looked very clean. I think that once a week is a good choice if using as a mask, for good results.
My mom used a little bit of this powder in her bath to soak in. She said she absolutely loved the way that it made her skin feel. She said she felt more relaxed and refreshed.
I have yet to try it on cellulite but I imagine that it would help to firm up the area. I wouldn't mind trying this as a regular scrub after delivering my baby, since I want to see how it would work on stretch marks.
A word of caution--this powder can get a bit messy, as it is simply powder in a big jar, but my suggestion is to use some sort of spoon or mini scoop with it.
Other than that, this product is really good.
