Well, since I found out that I was pregnant around the time that I received a cocktail muddler to review, I decided to try it a different way. Someone had suggested making salsa or pasta sauce and using the muddler to smash the vegetables or herbs needed.
I thought it sounded like a great idea!
My Cozia Cocktail Muddler came with a metal muddler and a cocktail fork/spoon.
This is what the bottom of the muddler looks like
This is the cocktail spoon
Both the muddler and the spoon are made from very good, firm stainless steel. The muddler head is grooved polypropylene.
I found this muddler worked great for squishing up tomatoes, smashing little bits of onion, cilantro, and bits of of jalapeno. It made the salsa thick and chunky but I liked it.
I love that I can use it with fruits too, blueberries, grapes, pieces of orange, peach, pear, etc and mix them in with a cold drink. I added some to my husband's glass of wine and he liked it, especially since I used it with frozen strawberries.
Both the muddler and the cocktail spoon clean up really easily. I can hand wash them or throw them into the dish washer.
This would make a nice gift for a bartender, or even a chef! They could probably use them in several different ways both in the bar and the kitchen as well.
