My son loves to read so I like to see if I can find him a new book to read. I think I found one that he'll enjoy.
Title: The Crew Goes Coconuts!: A Captain No Beard Story Volume 6

Watch the crew of the Flying Dragon learn an important lesson about being a true friend.
My Thoughts on This Book
Like I said above, my son loves to read. A lot. He's five years old and he loves to read all kinds of books for all different age levels too. His favorite books include animals. Guess what? As you could obviously tell by the cover--this book is about animals.
His favorite animal is a lion. Also on the cover.
He's obsessed with pirates. See the big pirate ship??
Three for three so far! He would see this book and want to read it right away.
The book is short--the perfect length for most young kids. The vocabulary is very easy to understand for young kids as well. I love the adorable and very colorful, eye-catching illustrations. The expressions on the characters' faces are silly but cute at the same time. I can see my son getting a kick out of the pictures.
The story was easy to follow and should be for most little ones. What I like the most is that the story is about bullying. Bullying is a very prominent issue these days. So many kids get bullied. I wasn't bullied too much as a kid but I knew a couple of kids who were. Awful. This book introduces the subject in a way that young children might be able to understand it better. It teaches the lesson that we shouldn't bully someone simply because they are different. Everyone is different in their own way.
Wonderful lesson to teach children and done in such a creative way.
I like this book a lot for young kids and can't wait for my son to read it!
Maybe he'll even want to read the whole Captain No Beard series. (This is the first book that I've read in the series, and I'd love to see him read the others).
