My Thoughts on This App
My son loves apps that he can play on his tablet or on the phone. He usually has so much fun interacting with these sorts of educational games. Although he already knows his alphabet, how to pronounce each letter, how to read, and how to write, I thought that this game seemed fun for a little bit of practice. The instructions are clearly explained and he can play the game at his own pace, which is something that I like. He did, however, get a little frustrated with some of the tracing because you have to trace the letters a certain way or it will not register. It's because he writes some of his letters out a different way. (Sometimes left handed children do this when learning how to write out their ABCs.) He quickly got over his frustration and just traced them out the way the game showed. After playing this game for a short while, since we only got the free version and it is limited, he got bored of it and started to play something else.
Other than that, I think that the graphics and colors are cute and very attractive for kids that are at a kindergarten level or younger. Children older than this might find the activities available too easy and get bored as well, but some might still like to use them as practice too.
This is a very good app for home schooling parents or as additional tool for kids who are currently enrolled in school. It would definitely be good if you're out and about and need something to keep your little one busy, especially if you have it on your phone or iPod Touch.
It's always a great idea, in my opinion, to get your children learning as early as possible. Before you know it, they'll be reading everything and anything, like my little boy. Games like this are excellent because they will help YOUNGER kids learn quickly but at the same time they will enjoy it because it's interactive and fun! Although the free version is very limited, the full version has multiple profiles, more letters to trace, and you can track your child's progress.
This app is available for the iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone. It requires iOS 4.3 or later. You can Get This App on iTunes so that your child can try it out you.
