My Opinion on This Product
This thing is one of the coolest products that I've ever owned that belongs in my kitchen. My husband and I have been needing something like this forever. I'd heard of electric wine openers in the past, but had never seen one in action, nor ever used one myself.
Look what this one can do (yes, there are going to be a ton of photos next):
The bottom half lights up with this pretty and bright blue light.
Here is the bottle of wine and the Extravo placed on the black stand that came with it
Here is a closeup of the stand/foil opener. This is the part that the wine opener sits on top of when being stored
If you flip it over, you can see the part that is used to cut the foil on the cork part of the wine bottle
You simply place on top of the foil part and turn in a circle, going completely around, squeezing the cutter very slightly
It made cutting the foil extremely quick and simple
Now, you place the Ozeri wine opener on the cork and push the top button and it removes the cork
To discard of the cork, you can push the button again and it will slowly be released
This is the nice bonus pourer/stopper that was included as well
This is what it looks like when placed in the open bottle of wine. It works very well for sealing the bottle until you're ready to use it
You can pull out the middle part (the stopper)
The tiny stopper on the left
This is what it looks like when the tiny stopper is completely removed and you can pour into your glass
I put the stopper to the ultimate test. I held it upside down while the stopper was in and it didn't spill out at all! This was amazing because I have used a few different wine stoppers that leaked pretty badly if the wine bottle even tipped over a little bit.
Overall, like I said above--coolest thing I have in my kitchen. We love everything about it.
It can be used for opening up to 60 bottles in one single charge? WOW. That's very nice. Not that I plan on opening this many bottles any time soon, but it's nice to know that the battery power lasts for so long.
It is not heavy at all, even though at first glance it might look like it should weigh a bit. It's light and super easy to use. I got it to work the first time I tried it.
I love that it comes with a stand that duplicates as a foil cutter--you wouldn't believe how annoyed I get when I can't the foil off right away. The stand is definitely a plus for easy storage on my counter or wherever I plan on putting it. Although, it does look really nice on my counter.
So happy that it also came with the pourer/stopper. Both will come in handy! I am thrilled that the wine doesn't still out at all when the stopper is in. Not even when held upside down!
I have NEVER been good with a regular wine opener. I always shred the cork into pieces. I could never do it right and it would drive me nuts. I would ALWAYS have to have someone open the bottle for me. Now, I am so, so happy with my electric wine opener because it has made opening a wine bottle easier than I would have ever believed to be possible.
I know SEVERAL people who would be dying to own one of these!
Are you one of them? I'll bet they it would look great when you're hosting a party.
