Recently, I was allowed to try out the Phonics and Reading with McGuffey app for kids.
I enjoy trying out new educational kids apps with my five year old because he's very into learning games. He's also very good at maneuvering around computer programs on his own, especially since he can read at a level well beyond his years.

My Thoughts on This Product
I like that your child or children can create their own profile and simply click on their name to continue their own lessons
Here is my son, using the app. There are so many different levels/lessons to pick from
Here's a picture of some of the programs that can be accessed:
Letter sounds, new words, phonics flashcards, phonics blender, lesson illustration, reading practice, quiz, spelling practice, sight word drilling, and more.
I think that this app is terrific. My son can navigate each page and lesson very easily. He hasn't asked for my help once. My little boy has completed several of the lessons and seems to really like doing them. It's nice that he can learn at his own pace, which is how he learns best. Perfect since he is being home schooled.
This app has helped him so much with his spelling, which is excellent. He is pronouncing several words better too. As for his reading, he's been reading way past the 1st grade reading level for over a year or so. It's a good refresher though.
This app is worth a shot if your little ones are having trouble reading, spelling, pronouncing words, or any other phonics issues, so yes, I highly recommend.
Phonics and Reading With McGuffey is available for purchase on Google Play, or through the Apple Store. This is great because then you can download and play on your android device, some smart phones, iPad, Kindle Fire, or iPod Touch. Perfect for learning at home or on the go, at appointments, when running errands, and such.
