My Thoughts on This Product:
I've always wanted a kitchen scale. Why? Because it seemed like a great idea for portion control. If you are trying to control the size of the foods you eat, this scale is perfect. You can just place it on the scale and find out just how much chicken or fish or whatever it is you're eating. And thanks to the ultra cool TARE function on this thing--you don't have to get your scale dirty. Just place it on a plate or in a bowl and the scale will only measure the food.
OMG.
How in the world do they do that? Magic, that's how. Just kidding. But it is very cool technology in my opinion.
I love the size, the colors, how easy it is to read the screen and use it and how accurate it is. This is just another great product by MIRA. My first favorite was the gorgeous black bathroom scale they sent me before this. It's in a previous post. Yet again, the company has not disappointed me.
If you're also trying to control your portions of food, then this scale is worth a try. It's a great gift for people who like to cook. Sometimes you might need to know the size of something for a particular recipe.
You don't have to just use it for food. Maybe you might need to weigh something that's under 11 pounds. Jewelry, coins, your pet guinea pig...I don't know. Maybe your kid is doing a science project and needs to weigh a few things. Sounds funny, I know but some people just like to know the weight of things. And the guinea pig thing might make you laugh, but as an owner of guinea pigs, it's a good thing to keep track of what they weigh to make sure they are gaining the weight as they grow. Look it up, I'm serious. But don't use it for both food and guinea pigs. Not sanitary. But if have two, that works...
They are actually a really reasonable price of $19.95 on Amazon.
