Konjac Face Sponge Product Review

And the award for one of the strangest looking products I've received in the last few days is this.

It is a Konjac Facial Sponge from Pure SOL with added Bamboo Charcoal

Yes, it definitely looks like a rock and is pretty hard when you take it out of the box. I know what you're thinking--a HARD sponge for your face? Whaaaatttt?

And yes, you can hang your rock-looking sponge

 HERE COMES THE COOL PART:

You hold it under water for a few minutes and then...

It softens up and feels like a soft loofah!

You can hang it in your shower to use. How convenient! HOWEVER, you should probably hang it out of the shower in a less wet area so that it can dry after use!

How to Use:

• Soak the sponge in water until COMPLETELY soft
• Add just a little bit of your favorite facial cleanser onto it and gently massage it on your face in a circular motion
• After you're done using it, rinse it out, and squeeze it gently between your hands. Don't wring it out because you will damage it
• Then, hang it on the plastic hook (included in box) in a well-ventilated space.
• Replace every 2-3 months or as soon as it seems to be breaking apart
• It may dry out in between uses but no big deal, because you can just soak it in water and soften it up again!
• The sponge can be composted when you're ready to get rid of it

Here are a few tips from the company:

• If you live in a hot and humid climate we recommend storing your Konjac Sponge in the refrigerator in sealed container to extend the life. Please remember Konjac is a vegetable fiber and the sponge is completely natural with no preservatives or chemicals!
• You can sterilize you sponge every few weeks by boiling it in water or popping it in the microwave for a minute.

My Thoughts on This Product:

I think that it is great. I like that it is a natural, biodegradable sponge. I love that it has NO preservatives or chemicals. It's cruelty free and vegan. YAY! I love how easy it is to use and the little hook and string are a cute addition. 

I have been using it on my face for over a week, alternating between my Adovia Dead Sea Soap and my The Healing Tree Bamboo Charcoal Soap. You really only have to use very little because this little sponge sure creates a good amount of bubbles. 

Normally I use a tiny plastic face scrubber on my face but this Konjac Sponge is a nice change because it is so soft and fluffy against my skin.  It helps me get my skin as clean as possible, helps exfoliate my skin too, and I love it. I would love to own a bigger one that can be used all over the body. 

Have I noticed a change in my skin's appearance? Well, I have been able to really thoroughly clean my face better before so it is looking a bit better. 

It does contain carbon in it as well as essential minerals which help draw out toxins. Excellent! I feel good every time I use it because of this. How refreshing to know that I'm getting all those excess chemicals and whatever else my skin is being exposed to on a daily basis.
