I don't like to use sugar too often so I am always interested in trying out various alternatives. I usually use honey or agave syrup but was sent a bottle of Yacon Syrup to try out review and I was totally for it.

My Thoughts on This Product
It's a very dark color--looks like really dark pancake syrup--and you can use it for this if you like. I kind of like it on my pancakes, to be honest. I use a teaspoon in my cup of tea and it was okay. It didn't taste too bad. I tried it by itself and it was okay. It does taste like something but I can't really explain what. I didn't like it too much in my coffee, especially not when I tried to add cream. It altered the taste a bit too much for my liking.
I like that it's a more natural sweetener and better for me than sugar, but I'll probably only use it in my tea or in something else that doesn't already have a strong flavor.
I guess if YOU don't mind the root??? flavor, then, yes this is great for diabetics or anyone else looking for a sweetener alternative that's actually good for them. Maybe the taste just takes some getting used to. The way I see it, if I were diabetic or had some other health issue that required me to use way less sugar, then I'd just keep using it till I got used to the taste. And it's really not that the taste is gross or anything, it's just DIFFERENT from what I'm used to. You also don't have to use it in anything. You can take a couple of spoonfuls a day for the health benefits. It is high in antioxidants and probiotics, does not alter your glucose levels, restores renal activities, and boosts your metabolism, which outweighs the taste.
It's low cal and NON-GMO, certified organic, there's no soy, it's Gluten-free, and has no preservatives, which is also good.
