I honestly can't believe how much my blog has grown since the day I started, a few years ago. I have received more free products than I could have ever imagined possible. Before, I was lucky if I received 1-3 samples every 6 months or so. This week alone, I have about 8 that are on their way...
My mail man stopped me the other day and asked, "Wow, you sure love online shopping, huh?" I just laughed and told him, "I do, but all those boxes you bring are things that companies actually send me for free. I don't pay a cent." He said, "That's pretty cool! I've never seen anyone get so many free packages every week!"
I have reviewed hundreds of products, now, to this day, on my blog, my social networks, and review sites. I am also very happy to be able to now be doing giveaways too. It's a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work.
I have to set aside time every few days to try EVERY product out for a certain amount of time, take pictures of each of them, and write about how I honestly feel about them all. Some of the products are books that I have to read from beginning to end. I don't love every single product that I get, and I will always explain why I do or don't. However, even if I don't love something, other people might. Also, there might be things that I really love that other people might hate.
For those of you who are wondering how I get all of these products:
Most of the products that I receive are things that I have applied to review. And guess what? I don't get approved to review everything that I do apply for. But, I just keep applying for more products that I would like to review. Sometimes, I get a request/email to review a product that I didn't originally apply for or might not have ever heard of.
I get a free product(s) as long as I agree to post an HONEST review about what I think, good or bad. I have not received monetary compensation for any of my posts, but this is not to say that I never will. I may be willing to do so in the near future, but I still plan on sharing how I really feel about whatever I am given. Also, if I am getting paid to review a product, I will make sure to let my readers know.
Some of my favorite sites that I am a member of that send me products to review are:
If you are interested in reviewing products, then feel free to apply to any of those. Yes, they are all FREE to join. You might get products, you might get coupons, or you might get both.
Like I said earlier, I did not have a ton of products being sent to me right away. It took a few months but I currently receive several a month. Don't give up if you don't get anything right away. Be patient and make sure to update all of your profile info on each site. Some may require you to complete surveys. This will help ensure that you will have a chance to review products that are more suited for you from those sites. Some of them will let you just apply for items that you want to try.
You can also review products that you buy or already have around the house. Maybe there is something in your home that you absolutely love/hate using. Take some pics of the product in action, tell everyone what you use it for, link back to the company that you bought the product from, etc. Just some ideas...
Share your reviews on your twitter, your pinterest, your facebook, your youtube, and any other social networks.
Lastly,
When it comes to reviewing products, I have deadlines to meet too. Sometimes it does get slightly overwhelming. It is not something for everyone. I personally enjoy doing it and plan on continuing to do this for years to come.
