I absolutely love to try out new hair and makeup products so I was very pleased to receive a FREE shower cap from SAVE THE BLOW DRY.
A Little Bit About My Hair
I have very, very, curly hair, (as you can see in the picture) okay, and I only wash it a couple times a week. I do this because if I wash it more often it tends to get very tangled and frizzy--two things that I absolutely hate.
And so I've been through one horrible shower cap after another for years. I've used the thin plastic disposable ones as well as reusable thicker ones. I hadn't found one that I really liked because they were all just really bad. The disposable ones didn't always keep my hair from getting wet or frizzy. Ew. The reusable ones weren't any better because no matter how many times I washed them, they ended up smelling pretty gross. And yes, I bought the antimicrobial ones and they still ended up gross. They also didn't always keep my hair from getting wet or frizzy.
This especially became a problem for me when I was in the mood to have straight hair, which is a pretty tough process at times. You see, my tiny curls are pretty tough and don't always get as straight as I would like, and it can take some work. Now, putting on a shower cap that keeps my hair dry is a necessity after I straighten it. Imagine how frustrating it can be to get in the shower wearing a shower cap over my freshly straightened hair, only to get out with hair that has to be straightened all over again!!! Oh my gosh! I have to straighten it yet again day after day and damage my locks.
So I take it out of the bag and this is what it looks like. I think it is really cute! It also feels very thick, which is extremely different from your average shower cap. You want to know why it's thicker? It not only has a plastic outer covering, but it has a pink mesh towel layer on the inside. Genius, in my opinion.

This shower cap helps keep your hair from getting wet, frizzy and tangled. It also doesn't matter if your hair is pretty long because the size of the cap expands. Just comb your hair, clip it up, and slip on the shower cap.
Guess what? It's reversible too! You can do your hair treatments and flip it over, so that the plastic covering can lock in heat and moisture for your treatment. I think that this is a great idea.
