Recently I recieved my latest product to review as a BzzAgent (I love being a bzzagent, by the way)
The product was from Burt's Bees, which I have always been a huge fan of but since they are a bit pricey I hardly purchase items from them. Everything that I have bought from them, however, has always had great results.
The product to review was part of the Burt's Bees Intense Hydration line:
When I got the invite, I said to myself, "Finally, something for my dry skin!" and "I love Burt's Bees--I know this stuff is going to be great!" I was very happy. You see, my skin tends to dry up a lot towards the fall and winter seasons. Most of the dryness occurs around my nose, my cheeks and a bit of my forehead. Sometimes, I even get acne on my cheeks and forehead. In fact, I still have some acne scars from when I was a teenager.
There was an Official Bzz Guide, about 10 samples of Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Day Lotion and Night Cream (5 of each) with coupons on the back, a full sized 1.8 oz Intense Hydration Night Cream, 6 oz Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser, and full sized 4 oz Intense Hydration Treatment Mask!
You know I was super excited after opening this up!
Alright, well the Official Bzz Guide told me all the facts about each of the products as well as the retail price of each. I wasn't shocked to see that they all costs $17.99 at the store, except for the Cream Cleanser that costs about $9.99. Like I stated earlier, Burt's Bees is a little pricey in my opinion, but I have always been pretty satisfied with their products.
After reading it, I learned that (and this is straight from the Official BzzGuide, not my own words)
The Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Face Care Line:
- is clinically proven to intensely hydrate skin
- helps reduce the appearance of lines/wrinkles
- is dermatologist-tested & noncomedogenic
- is 99% natural
- enhanced w/ probiotic technology
- can be found in mass retailers , drug stores, etc. worldwide
Gotta love the sound of all that, right? What woman wouldn't?
I love using products that are natural and paraben free, so I was ready to start trying this stuff out as soon as I got it.
The first product that I used was the Treatment Mask since it was already past noon and I wanted to use the other stuff in the morning and evening.
Treatment Mask with Clary Sage
Oh, before I forget--according to the Official BzzGuide, Clary Sage has an "exceptional ability to adapt and retain moisture".
The directions say to apply a thick layer to face and neck, avoiding eyes, and to leave it on for 5-10 minutes. Then, you're supposed to remove it with a tissue and massage remaining product into skin. It says to do this 1-2 times a week or as needed.
this is me spreading the mask on
I love the way it smells. It must be the Clary Sage that I'm smelling. Anyway, the mask went on smoothly and felt cool on my skin. I rinsed it away and my skin did feel nice and soft.
The next morning I used the Cream Cleanser that also has Clary Sage in it.
I'm going to be honest of course--I used this stuff and no, my skin didn't feel very soft afterwards. In fact, it was a little dry, but I figured it was because I had barely started using this particular product. It does say to follow up with the day lotion (which did not come as a full sized product. According to the guide in the box, BzzAgents are encouraged to "grab a full-sized bottle for youself!" However, with my limited funds, I have not purchased my own bottle and I already gave out all of the samples to people I know...
By the time evening came around I was ready to try the cleanser again, followed by the Night Cream that also has Clary Sage in it.
comes in a nice sized glass jar
This night cream is my favorite! After the first use I immediately noticed how soft and smooth my skin felt. Even upon waking up in the morning, my skin still feels amazingly moisturized.
4 days have passed and although I do not own the Day Lotion yet, using the other products every day, (well the mask will only be used 1-2 times a week and I think I'll be doing it tonight and on fridays) has left my skin feeling so nice. I am happy with the results so far. I know it's only been a few days but there is definitely a difference in the level of moisture in my skin!
I will be writing another post about this in about a week to let you all know how my skin is feeling then...
Hope you enjoyed my review---I will be looking forward to doing another one very soon. Can't wait to see what I'll be invited to do!
